We were headed down to surprise my niece, Kiffie, for her 13th birthday. We were seeing my parents, family and friends that we hadn't seen since July. I was going home to North Carolina. I don't know where I was when I took the picture, but I know where I was going.
We weren't staying in NC long, just the weekend, and I intended to make every second count. My parents came to the hotel we were staying at soon after we got there and we spent the evening catching up. I regret not getting any pictures...and I can't remember why I didn't. Maybe my camera battery was charging.. Maybe I was too busy talking.. Maybe I just forgot to.. All I know is I don't have any, but it's okay. I have wonderful memories of my little Sarah crawling up on my Dads lap and resting her head on his chest while she watched Yo Gabba Gabba on his phone....of Arianna talking nonstop to both my parents about her new school, and showing them she can do a real split now...to Forrest Gump being on the tv, and sometimes non of us were talking, and just watching the movie together. It's funny how, while I was aware 4 months had passed since I seen my parents in person, it felt like no time had passed at all.
